A Rainy Day Wedding on the Farm

Travel right down to Surrey beside me for the wedding of a yoga instructor Gemma to James, a regional sales director. They married on 22 September 2018 at, Dunsfold, Surrey inside a celebration filled with natural elements and fresh green foliage inspired by their love of bohemian, festival culture, and minimalist design. The farm, using its remote, rustic setting and 'blank canvas' barn was an ideal backdrop for that couple to obtain creativity.

The bride's love of boho styling is perfectly displayed through her selection of gowns, a number having a leafy-lacy low-backed T-shirt bodice along with a button-through skirt having a puddle train.

"I loved the French chic cut, the gorgeous material, the quirkiness and playfulness from the details, and also the fact it had been so comfy to put on."

Statement blue and gold earrings along with a bracelet from the boutique on Exmouth Market finished her look, along having a splash of perfume. The overall vibe is effortless boho, just gorgeous for that countryside wedding.

A genuine favorite with bridesmaid dresses was the origin of these minty green halterneck bridesmaid gowns. Worn with silver strappy shoes and earrings, the girls' look was glammed up much more by elegant up-dos.

"James and Gemma met once they were just 18. One of my bridesmaids introduced us at a party – only one month before going to separate universities. We took the first few years quite casually but our shared love of music and number of mutual friends strengthened our relationship."

"After studying we chose to move in together and hang up a house in London. James proposed on our eighth anniversary (after a little encouragement from Guy Garvey – among James' music heroes who he happened to meet on the train earlier that year!). I said yes, and merely over one year later I was married."

James looks wonderfully cool and modern in the dark blue three-piece suit and burgundy tie, finished having a delicate buttonhole.

The civil ceremony was held within the barn against a wall of fairy lights. The bride entered, after having sheltered in the rain within a massive umbrella, around the arm of her father Richard as Bon Iver’s 'Holocene' played.

James was waiting at the top of the aisle using the celebrant, I have to say here just how much I adore the mother from the bride's outfit – she looks so elegant in her fitted dress and amazing hat, and also the color suits your day so well.

"Miranda was incredible! She took the time to obtain to know James and me on a personal level, and we felt a deep reference to her when we got to the wedding day. She helped craft the ceremony to ensure that its sentiment was extremely personal and meaningful to us. We included readings and song lyrics through the ceremony, as well as having symbolic candle lighting along with a few surprises across the way."

We have photographers by way of thanking for these gloriously romantic images, which I feel do capture the magical feel of the barn and also the joy of the newlyweds.

"We couldn't recommend Maja enough – she is really warm, approachable, and friendly and she or he completely understood our vision from the word go. She was extremely professional and discreet around the day, and regardless of the rain pouring down all day long she used her creativity to create and capture some stunning photos indoors that people will cherish forever."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Have an image and stick to it. Be decisive making choices that are personal tor to you. Remember it's your day, and also at the end of the day individuals will respect and love that which you have chosen since it is that which you wanted – not other people."
