A Humanist, Village Hall, Whimsical Wedding
Curious regarding the location of our couple's venue and setting, I looked up and found an attractive quote by Sir Walter Scott from his novel Rob Roy, in which he described Loch Ard as 'an enchanting sheet of water.' Surrounded by fells and mountains, the loch's ethereal magic continues to be beautifully captured by our couple's photographer, Meet Drama Teacher and Mark, a Quantity Surveyor, who have been married around the 7 April in Kinlochard, Scotland.
From Glasgow boutique, Lesley decided on a dress, having an exquisitely embellished strapless bodice, full of glittering floral and Paisley motif designs, along with a softly draped tulle skirt.
"I loved the whimsical and flowing naturally from the tulle skirt and loved the vintage feel from the heavily embellished bodice, which have been both elements I'd always envisioned. I also loved how easy it was to put on and accessorize."
Lesley's Flowergirl looked lovely inside a glittery pink tulle and lace dress with applique flowers (along with a pretty matching headband), whilst the bridesmaids wore blush pink multiway maxi prom dresses, with shoes, and eucalyptus leaves within their hair.
Lesley wore a set of pale pink sandals, adorned with ostrich feathers over the toe straps, as well as for jewelry, and earrings, together with her beautiful diamond engagement ring.
There's this type of marvelous variety of seasonal colors in Lesley's incredible bouquet, including glorious anemones and hellebore, delicate forget-me-nots and chamomile daisies, roses, lisianthus, sea holly, and snake's head fritillary.
"I wanted a natural, undone, seasonal wildflowers which were colorful and pretty. Daisies are one of my favorite flowers, so I knew I wanted those to be included."
The groomsmen wore tartan ties, whilst Mark wore a contrasting grey tie, plus they accessorized using their buttonholes as well as an assortment of rather brilliant, brightly colored badges.
"We met through mutual friends at Scottish music festival T in the Park when I was just teenagers, but we didn't be a couple until a couple of years later whenever we bumped into one another by chance in Glasgow nightclub ABC."
"We visited White Russians on our first date, and 10 years later Mark inquired about to marry him, on vacation staying at an adorable countryside bothy, encompassed by little lambs around the Scottish borders."
The couple decided to hold a Humanist ceremony, that was conducted by a celebrant and exchanged specially written vows.
Inside the sunshine and bright village hall, the area was decorated with strings of twinkling fairy lights, white bunting, and pink, white and gold streamers, whilst the tables were decorated with garlands of trailing eucalyptus and ivy.
After the marriage breakfast and cake, there is music from Stevie Scott, and Lesley and Mark enjoyed their first married dance together to La's, There She Goes.
"We chose this because it is a song we now have always loved dancing to and that we unexpectedly saw La's play this live one from the first times we met. We both feel it always reminds us of one another."
As your day came to a close, the pair headed to the Loch to reflect on a beautiful day, because the magical mist in the mountains rolled over the surface of the water.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
"If you are feeling unsure of any decision because you are feeling under pressure by any means, you need to take a break from planning and come to it later."
"There are constant decisions to create, and often it can be overwhelming. Give yourself space should this happen, and you will benefit from the process all of the more."
