Katie And Ben's Fun Rustic Wedding

Celebrating finally being together again as it is important for these newlyweds. Katie and Ben visited the primary school together however went on to various secondary schools. "We both wound up doing work experience at our old primary school simultaneously," says Katie. "After the 2 weeks' work experience ended, we exchanged numbers. Then, a few weeks later, we met up in the cinema and Ben inquired about out!"

Ben proposed in October 2019, following the couple have been to see Disney on Ice. "We visited the town, were built with a couple of drinks, and then visited see the show," says Katie. "Afterwards we went for a meal. When we got home, Ben inquired about going into your kitchen. There were pictures of people and a bouquet of flowers so when I turned around Ben was on a single knee. I was surprised, as I had no idea, but pleased as we have been together for eight years! We got married yesterday our 10th anniversary."

WEDDING DRESSES FEELTIMES

Katie visited feeltimes.com online store looking for her dream dress. "I find the dress, which I also added straps along with a veil too," she says. "The experience was amazing, considering I brought my dress yourself in August 2020 when covid restrictions remained as in place. I tried numerous dresses on before falling in love with mine. I loved the intricate detailing of the dress and also the simplicity of it. It wasn't too outrageous. Everyone commented how gorgeous it had been."

"We desired to get married inside a barn for that rustic feel but we also wanted enough rooms for the guests to remain over without needing to travel too much," says Katie. "Our venue, the Meadow Barn at Stratford Park Hotel & Golf Club, ticked all of the boxes. We loved that you simply didn't have to go outrageous with the decor since the barn itself is gorgeous. The views within the golf course were also stunning."

THE BIG DAY

The couple married on 31st July 2021. "Dad and I walked on the aisle to 'Can't Help Falling in Love by Kina Grannis," says Katie. "Ben and I then walked back on the aisle to Vance Joy's 'Fire & the Flood'. On the way towards the venue, it tipped it down but, once we pulled up, the rain stopped, heaven cleared, and also the sun arrived on the scene. The weather then stayed dry and warm for that rest from the day."

"After the ceremony we'd Buck's Fizz as our welcome drinks, mingled with guests coupled with pictures taken," says Katie. "We then had our three-course meal and much more photos. We were married inside a barn, therefore we went on the rustic route. There were log slices around the tables with flowers on the top and lanterns. Our place names were also wooden. We were built with a two-tier naked cake, that was lemon flavored."

"In the evening there is a pizza van and we were built with a live band, The Wilderman, which our guests loved."

"Covid overshadowed the majority of our engagement," says Katie. "And there have been plenty of points during the run-up to your day where we chose to need to postpone."

"We did not have to postpone ultimately and, with just 10 days to visit, restrictions were lifted on bridesmaid dresses. I think this helped massively using the atmosphere at ours, as people really made certain to enjoy themselves. We have been so restricted within the last handful of years that everybody made the most from the day."

MY TOP TIPS…

"Don't sweat the little stuff!" says Katie. "The most significant thing for me personally was marrying Ben. I didn't care if things went wrong, I wasn't fussed concerning the weather or even the little details."
